Martin Nørgaard Gregersen is from Denmark and has been an e-Resident since 2016. He has been a part of different businesses and initiatives – for example, he was a management board member in EERICA (Estonian e-Residents International Chamber Association that unites e-Resident entrepreneurs across the world) for years and is still an active part of the organization.

Martin started his Estonian business in 2016, but only recently, in 2021 decided to focus on digital transformation and renamed the company “Paradigm Shift OÜ”. He has been using 1Office services for a while now and was kind enough to share his story and recent engagements with us.

Please describe what kind of business your company does and where?

Paradigm Shift is a digital transformation company specializing in helping small businesses, primarily in Northern Europe, grow and scale with automation and cloud-based tools.

What made you start the company and how did you come up with the idea?

After serving clients since 2009 with web and graphic design as a sole proprietor, I founded the full-service digital agency “mr noe OÜ” in 2016. In 2020, I changed focus to digital transformation and renamed the company “Paradigm Shift OÜ” in 2021 and onboarded Esther Hiamang as CEO.

Paradigm shift is built on a philosophy that technology should be used to minimize time spent on tedious day-to-day tasks to make room for creative and curiosity-driven endeavors. We believe that making time for purpose-driven work is fundamental to progressing society.

Why did you decide to choose an Estonian company for your business?

How has the process been? Please describe how you felt, what was surprising and what have been the challenges.

The process has been very smooth. We were surprised at the speed and ease of conducting business in Estonia. This was especially the case during the COVID pandemic which restricted business dealings all over the world but not for established e-Residents.

Have you already created an account in my1Office platform and how has it changed the administrative services of your company?

It has simplified administrative tasks with easy access to critical documents.

What are the challenges in your work and how do you conquer them?

The vast amount of digital tools that emerge in the form of web applications, automation software, and other cloud and/or web-based solutions. As a digital transformation company, we work to be at the forefront of these new developments and know-how to integrate it into solutions for our growing clientele. Newer tools we are unfamiliar with must be investigated, assessed, and tested.

Lately, this means understanding the security infrastructure each solution might need or possess. We conquer these requirements by following our Client Solution Development Model which engages three different stages of understanding, observation, then crafting tailored solutions. The three stages are Cognitive, Process Oriented, and Solution Driven. Here we rely on critical thinking, actionable insight, and targeted implementation and deployment of transformative technology.

What are the plans for Paradigm Shift?

We recently partnered with a security company based out of the United States. They bring cybersecurity solutions originally built for the United States intelligence community to the private sector. Our goal is to integrate each risk detection, prevention, and mitigation measure into Paradigm Shift’s existing tool base to create robust solutions for our clients.

What would be your recommendations to other e-Residents? And for Danish e-Residents?

That they take advantage of Estonia’s seamless digital economy to broaden their outreach to the global community. This is an instance in which establishing your company in one country allows you to easily expand your reach to anywhere in the world that has internet access.

Founders can build their companies on Estonia’s secure digital foundation but physically travel to each of the world’s growing startup communities to speak to the value of their business and engage with foreign stakeholders on their own turf. The opportunity to truly market to a global audience digitally and physically has never been greater as it is now post-COVID and as an e-Resident.

How can 1Office customers and blog readers benefit from the services your company provides?
