Is a legal address actually mandatory in Estonia?
Yes. Every Estonian OÜ must have a registered address at all times under the Commercial Code. It is publicly visible in the Business Register. Without one, the Business Register can initiate forced deletion of your company.
Do I also need a contact person, or just an address?
If your management board is based outside the EU, Estonian law requires you to appoint a licensed local contact person in addition to a legal address. Our service includes both, so you are fully covered regardless of where you are located.
What post does the address actually receive?
Official correspondence from the Tax and Customs Board (EMTA), the Business Register (RIK), Statistics Estonia, courts, and other state authorities. Personal or non-official mail is not handled. Up to 10 letters per month are scanned and forwarded to you digitally.
Can I use a virtual address as a registered office?
Yes. A virtual office address is the standard and legally accepted solution for non-resident founders. Estonian authorities and the Business Register accept it fully, as long as official correspondence can be received and forwarded, which is exactly what we provide.
