Description
From 2019 all Finnish limited liability companies are required to register the details of the company’s beneficial owner with the Finnish Trade register. A beneficial owner is a private person who directly or indirectly holds the company shares or voting rights or otherwise exercises control over the company. The notification must still be submitted, even if the company has no direct owner, or a single person exercising control.
Included in the price:
- Gathering information and helping to determine the beneficial owner of the company
- Preparing and submitting the beneficial owner registration documents to the Finnish Trade Register
- Communication with the Finnish Trade Register
- Copy of the beneficial owner registration confirmation
Available for an extra fee:
- Consultation
Important information:
- Submitting the notification on paper is only possible if the company signatories do not have Finnish personal identification numbers. All other companies must submit the notification online.
- The Finnish Act on Money Laundering and the underlying EU directives on money laundering require companies to identify the beneficial owners, submit the details of the beneficial owners, and keep the details up to date.
- The details of the beneficial owners are not public information.
- All banks, accounting firms and law firms are required to identify their customers and check the beneficial owner details. Service providers can decline services if the client has not registered beneficial owners. Service providers are also obligated to report to the authorities any deficiencies or inconsistencies in the beneficial owner details.
