FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We’ll gladly answer your questions
How long does it take to form a UK company?

1Office registers UK companies within 1 working day with Companies House. However delays can occur when additional information is needed.

Can a non-UK resident start a company in the UK?

Yes. Non-residents can form a UK company with 1Office’s assistance. Our package includes the legally required UK business address. Directors can reside in most countries, but due to AML regulations, we cannot support company formation for individuals from jurisdictions listed as high-risk by the EU or FATF.

Do I need to be in the UK to register a business in the UK?

You do not have to be in the UK — or travel to the UK — to set up a limited company in the UK. You will need to have a registered UK office address.

What’s included in your company formation package?

We have different solutions available to meet your specific needs. If you would like to get further advice on the best suited option, please contact us/book a call with one of our friendly advisors.

Will forming a UK company help me get a UK visa?

No — forming a UK company alone does not grant any visa or residency rights. Company formation is a business process and doesn’t automatically support immigration status. If you’re looking to relocate to the UK, you’ll need to apply for a relevant visa separately, through official UK immigration channels.

Can a UK company use a foreign bank account outside of the UK?

Yes, a UK company can use a foreign business bank account — especially in cases where directors or shareholders are based outside the UK. However, you may still need to explain this setup to HMRC or partners. Many businesses also choose to open accounts with fintech platforms or EMI providers that support UK-registered companies remotely.
