- Scope: covers identity verification for one director or PSC as your registered ACSP, including document review, verification, and personal code confirmation.
- For existing companies: if we already handle your filings, verification is built into that process. If you manage your own filings, this service is available standalone.
- Companies House registration status: since 18 November 2025, identity verification is mandatory for every director and PSC under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.

We verify your identity as a director or PSC on Companies House’s behalf, using our status as a registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). This includes reviewing which route and documents apply to you, carrying out the verification, submitting it to Companies House, and confirming your personal code once verification is complete.
Can 1Office verify directors who don't have a biometric passport?
Yes. As an ACSP, we verify against the identity document itself, including non-biometric passports and national ID cards, rather than relying on the UK credit-reference checks that GOV.UK One Login falls back to when a biometric passport isn’t available. This is the main reason overseas directors choose an ACSP over the free government route.
How is this different from verifying through GOV.UK One Login myself?
GOV.UK One Login is free and works well if you hold a biometric passport. Using 1Office as your ACSP means we handle the process on your behalf, including cases the automated GOV.UK route struggles with, such as non-biometric passports, national ID cards, or limited UK financial history. Both routes produce the same personal code, accepted identically by Companies House.
Do I need to pay separately for each director or PSC?
The £99 fee covers one individual’s verification. If your company has multiple directors or PSCs, each person’s verification is a separate instance of the service, though we coordinate the process for all of them together so nothing is missed ahead of your confirmation statement.

What happens if I miss my company's verification deadline?
If verification is not complete by your company’s next confirmation statement, that filing cannot be accepted. We track your confirmation statement date and complete verification ahead of it, so this does not happen.
Can 1Office verify directors of an overseas company with a UK establishment?
Yes. Directors of an overseas company with a UK establishment verify by the anniversary of the UK establishment’s registration, using a separate filing, rather than by a confirmation statement date. We can manage this alongside standard director and PSC verification.
Do I need to verify again if I become a director of a second UK company?
No. Verification is a one-off process per individual. Once verified, your personal code applies across every UK company you are a director or PSC of. You do not need to repeat the process for each company.
